If I could collect a dollar for every time I was told to read my bible during my youth group years, I’d be a wealthy young man. This cannot be stressed enough.
I understand most people don’t think or care about theology as much as I do. Let’s not kid ourselves, most folks don’t think twice about what they’re eating so we shouldn’t get ahead of ourselves.
Unfortunately, for me, I’m a thinker!
Therefore, we can’t expect to simply read ancient writings- with the differences in setting, culture, language, etc.- only to easily determine upon reading, “yes, this is exactly what Paul, John or Jesus was saying.” It’s not good… it just sucks!
In light of this, I’ll be sharing insight on terms (Salvation, Justification, Heaven, etc.) we’ve all become familiar with; thanks to the coffee shops, youth groups, Churches, TV and so forth.
Lastly, these terms will be presented according to their New Testament usage (Jewish background again) not a later dogma, mostly influenced by 16th and 17th century theologians.
